Bale Scored The Wining Gaol

Bale, because you're worth it

He came very close to scoring several times throughout the game, but eventually found the back of the net as a grand finale, precisely when his team were struggling the most. Gareth Bale put away one of those goals that mark a player's career, that prove their worth.
Minute 84. Barça had tightened their grip after scoring the equaliser. Madrid then found a way through on the left flank. Gareth Bale picked up the ball and raced full pelt past Bartra, who had netted for Barça. There was a foul by the central defender but Bale continued his sprint around on the outside of the pitch. Bartra recovered, but did not get there in time to close down the Real Madrid forward. The Welshman threw himself forward in front of the young centre-back and clipped the ball into the 'Azulgranas' goal with his toe, slipping the finish underneath Pinto. Euphoria erupted in the Madrid section of the Mestalla, the fans having watched with bated breath since Bartra's equaliser.

It was Bale's fifth goal opportunity of the match. He had two in the opening minutes of the first half and two after the interval. He had been on the brink of glory earlier, but saved the best for last. A historic goal that raised the roof at the Mestalla.
