Darren Sharper Arrested In Los Angeles On New Orleans Rape Warrant

Former football star Darren Sharper, wanted by New Orleans police as a suspect in two rapes, was arrested on Thursday in Los Angeles, where he pleaded not guilty a week ago to charges of drugging four other women and raping two of them. The two women accusing him in New Orleans say Sharper, 38, and an acquaintance, Erik Nunez, 26, each raped them both at the same location on the night of September 23, 2013, according to a New Orleans Police Department statement on Thursday.

Boko Haram: Nigerian Military Commences Special Operation


The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja on Thursday said that the military had embarked on specialized operation to flush out the Boko Haram insurgents from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
The Director of Defence Information, Maj-.Gen. Chris Olukolade, made the disclosure when he briefed newsmen on the security situation in the three states under state of emergency.

A Ugandan newspaper listed 200 people it accused of being gay, a day after the President called homosexuals ''mercenaries'' and signed one of the world's toughest anti-gay laws. "Exposed!" the headline of the Red Pepper tabloid read, beneath photographs of Ugandans it said were gay. The paper also reported on lurid stories of alleged homosexual acts. "Uganda's 200 top homos named," the daily newspaper said, listing those who have openly declared their sexuality as well as people who have not. Gay rights activists, priests and music stars were on the list.

They set fire to the administrative block, moved on to the hostels where pupils were fast asleep and shut the gates. They set the hostels on fire and started shooting. Those who tried to escape were captured, their throats slit.
