Oprah Winfrey’s First Selfie
‘My first selfie. Love @idriselba! #imageawards,’ posted
Oprah Winfrey, with Idris Elba at NAACP Image Awards.
"Thank you America for embracing me," the British
actor said. "I'm one of those guys with the funny accent." Elba, 41, another man with a "funny accent," was
recently named the second coolest man in Britain by Zoo magazine. "I am daddy cool (2nd actually), I've made it!!!"
he wrote on Twitter Tuesday along with a photo of the mags recognition.
"This made me laugh … thanks @zoo."
Back at the awards Saturday, Winfrey was joined by Stevie
Wonder to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela, the late South African leader whom
Elba portrayed in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom." "We can each reflect, I do believe, the greatness he
inspired in all of us," she said. "I have to say sitting at his
funeral and watching that casket go into the ground, I miss him dearly. I want
you all to know that his life was an example to us all."
Oprah Winfrey's first attempt at a selfie was photobombed …
by Idris Elba!
"My first selfie," the media mogul wrote on
Twitter Saturday from the 45th annual NAACP Image Awards. "Love
@idriselba! #imageawards"
Taking a photo with the handsome "Pacific Rim"
actor is the dream of many so Winfrey wasn't exactly peeved by it.
Idris Elba looked dashing on the red carpet at the 45th
NAACP Image Awards on February 22. ‘Did I just photo bomb Oprah?’ he tweeted
shortly after she took her first selfie.
