Murder Of Couple In Enugu Police Commence Investigation
Police detectives attached to the State Criminal
Investigations Department, SCID, Enugu, have commenced full scale
investigations into the alleged incident of murder in which one Ogbonna Idoko
and his wife, Victoria Idoko, all of Okpowo- Okpo, Enugu Ezike in Igboeze North
Local Government Area were allegedly murdered inside their room.
The incident reportedly occurred on February 7, 2014 in the
night where it was gathered that the victims neck and throat were cut with
sharp object probably, a knife. The
state police spokesman, Ebere Amarizu who confirmed the incident said four
suspects namely ; Ikechukwu Ejike, Michael Ezeja, Solomon Ugwuanyi and Ifeanyi
Nwaiyida all of Okpo, have been arrested.
He further said the suspects were helping the police in their
investigations as the deceased corpses have been deposited at the General
Hospital, Ogurute, for necessary action.
In a related development, six persons have been arrested by
the operatives of the State Criminal
Investigations Department, Enugu over their alleged involvement in the
murder of on Chukwuemeka Ugwa, a twin brother to one Chukwudi Ugwa. The suspects; Eric Nnebedum, Christopher
Onyeahuzi, Christopher Ejeagbasi, Kingsley Ajala, Ifeanyi Ekwusi and Clement
Orji were said to had allegedly conspired and chained the victim at the town
hall located at Ubaha- Awlaw in Oji River Local Government Area of the state on
February 8, 2014 where they allegedly tortured him to death for stealing the
sum of seventy four thousand naira. Deceased corpse is now deposited at the
General Hospital mortuary Oji River, for necessary action.
